To Connect with God, and Connect with Neighbor
Scripture Reference “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ [Connecting with God] This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ [Connecting with Neighbors] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Matthew 22:36-40
Reference from PCUSA’s Book of Order The great ends of the church are the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind; the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God; the maintenance of divine worship; the preservation of the truth; the promotion of social righteousness; and the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the World. -Presbyterian Book of Order, G-1.0200
